FAIRBURY - Fairbury Public Schools has their first day of class on Wednesday, and this year, many students and staff will enjoy a number of new classrooms and laboratories at the high school building.

Seven science and special ed rooms have been remodeled, while three new science labs were added. Superintendent Stephen Grizzle says this will be a welcome and highly anticipated change.

"The science labs that have been added are at least 50% bigger than the old classrooms," Grizzle said. "It's going to be an amazing space. We can't to have everyone see it."

The classroom renovation project took a little over a year, and cost $2.4 million to complete. Grizzle says the project cost less than anticipated.
