Stanton County Sheriff pursuit ends in crash and arrest

An Omaha man is in jail after a multi-county pursuit in Northeast Nebraska.

STANTON - An Omaha man is in jail after a multi-county pursuit in Northeast Nebraska.

In a news release from the Stanton County Sheriff's Office, Sheriff Mike Unger says 36-year-old Adam Carlson fled from a traffic stop in Norfolk on Thursday morning around 3 A.M.

 A pursuit led authorities into Stanton County where they say Carlson crashed his vehicle into a ravine near a Stanton trailer court near 10th Street.

Sheriff Unger says Carlson fled on foot, but was caught by Madison and Stanton County deputies soon after.

After arrest Carlson was found to be wanted on a felony warrant for absconding parole.

He was also found to be wanted in connection with an armed robbery and car jacking in Iowa on Tuesday, but fled from Omaha Police.

Carlson faces numerous charges including speeding, willful reckless driving, habitual criminal and avoiding arrest.
