There's a new twist in an already shocking situation in western Iowa.

COUNCIL BLUFFS - There's a new twist in an already shocking situation in western Iowa.
Council Bluffs authorities say they responded to a call of a man down around 12:30 pm Wednesday. Officers found a 51-year-old man dead inside a home.
Now, police say evidence indicates the body found in the home is connected to a fatal officer-involved shooting from earlier in the day.
Early Wednesday morning, Pottowattamie County deputies attempted a traffic stop near 205th Street and Juniper Road.
According to the deputy, several shots were fired at his cruiser from the truck and the vehicle fled.
The pursuit ended when the truck lost control. According to a news release, the man had a passenger at gunpoint and a second gun pointed at officers.
Several hours later, an officer at the scene fired one shot and hit the suspect in the head, killing him.
Authorities say they won't release more information until Thursday morning.
