The Iowa volleyball team hired assistant Bobby Hughes on Monday to lead the team’s defense.
Hughes has 12 years of high school volleyball coaching experience, winning three Illinois state championships with Regina Dominican High School.
Hughes completes the coaching staff for the Hawkeyes, who fired former coach Bond Shymansky last month after an investigation determined that he intentionally provided an impermissible benefit to a prospect who went on to play for the Hawkeyes. Former assistant Vicki Brown was promoted to interim head coach.
