Big Bang Boom...before the firework finale
Food, live music, and family fun… there’s so much to do leading up to the big firework show at Big Bang Boom.
NORFOLK, NE - Food, live music, and family fun… there’s so much to do leading up to the big firework show at Big Bang Boom.
People of all ages are enjoying the day as they set up their chairs and wait for the grand finale.
Aside from eating…visitors can rent kayaks, take their children to play in the inflatable bounce houses, and enjoy different bands throughout the day.
"I love the atmosphere here, I love that they have food here, and of course, cold stuff... and then the bands they have every year. They have the 'U Hop' section for kids, and it's just a fun-filled day for kids."
Fifteen-year-old Norfolk resident, Alisha Larsen, has attended Big Bang Boom her entire life and enjoys the time she gets to spend during the day with her family and friends.
"I'm with my twin sister and my Dad and brother," she says. "I've been coming here since I was born, and I think it's cool that they host something like this."
Although the festivities didn’t fall on the Fourth of July this year… co-owner of Norfolk Outfitting, Lita Stuthman, says it’s still important for the community to come together to celebrate.
"I don't think it matters when you celebrate it... a celebration is a celebration, and having fireworks, everybody loves them. It's just a feeling of that freedom and what it stands for. I'm sure a lot of people that come out appreciate what we accomplished."
