MEADOW GROVE - Authorities have identified the individuals involved in yesterday's accident west of Meadow Grove.

Madison County Sheriff Todd Volk says 63-year-old Dixie Hood of Meadow Grove was pronounced dead at the scene.

Volk says Hood's van was westbound on Highway 275 when an eastbound pickup truck driven by 86-year old Delbert Heithoff of Elgin crossed the center line...causing a head-on crash.

Heithoff was taken to Faith Regional Health Services Hospital in Norfolk. His condition has not been updated.

Neither driver was wearing their seat belts.

The accident closed down Highway 275 in both directions for about three hours.
