They hope to inform residents about the community solar program coming to Norfolk in June 2020. The program is similar to the one Fremont has in place.
Fremont City Administrator Brian Newton says its a great opportunity for economic development.
"I've got a lot of interest from new commercial customers in Fremont and they're expressing interest in solar," Newton said. "This is a great business attraction to be able to tell them 'hey you can get in our community solar farms.'"
An eight-megawatt solar facility is being built to help serve the Norfolk area. Officials say they will hold more public education events as completion of the farm gets closer.
