BEATRICE – Beatrice Police and Beatrice Fire and Rescue paramedics were summoned to a north Beatrice area early Tuesday morning, after receiving a call reporting a man lying on a city street.

At about 3:39, police found the man, bleeding from a head injury and lying on 8^th Street, just north of the intersection of 8^th and Jefferson.

Medics were summoned at 3:40 a.m. and were on the scene for several minutes, treating the victim inside a rescue vehicle. He was taken by ambulance to the Beatrice Municipal Airport at around 4:33 a.m., to be taken by medical helicopter to a hospital.

The cause of the injury and the condition of the victim are not known at this time. Police were investigating at the scene where they found the man and canvassing the area around the neighborhood. Several city police officers and a Gage County Sheriff’s Sergeant were at the scene.
