Schedule notes

Back-to-back night games to open the season will generate a lot of excitement. Doane is hosting Hastings and Jamestown for the second straight season, and are also traveling to Dakota Wesleyan and Northwestern College for a second straight year.

As for the Thursday opener, the Doane Athletics Twitter page posted a poll on Mar. 29, asking fans if they'd be cool with a Thursday game instead of Saturday.

The response was pretty positive.

Spring ball is under way for #DoaneFB. If the opportunity was available for @DoaneFootball, would you be excited for a Thursday Night Football game at Papik Field in the future?

The Tigers are holding their spring game this week at Al Papik Field.

The game was moved from Thursday to Wednesday to beat the bad weather. Warmups on Wednesday will start at 4:10 with the scrimmage to follow.
