COLUMBUS - A body has been recovered from Lake North after a multi-hour search by various rescue organizations.
Officials told News Channel Nebraska that a call came in around 10:30 AM on Sunday about a possible downing towards the northern portion of the lake. Rescue teams quickly responded to that area of the lake, with assistance being provided by the Platte County Sheriff's Department, the Nebraska State Patrol, Platte County Dive and Rescue, the Waterloo Fire Department, and a Husker Helicopter.
Around 7:00 PM, officials said that a body had been recovered from the lake, but no further information has been made available regarding the victim. We will continue to provide updates on this situation as they become available.
