One person killed in early morning fire in Hastings

One person was killed Thursday in a house fire in Hastings.


The Nebraska State Fire Marshal's Office confirmed the fatality after Hastings and Hastings Rural firefighters were called to a blaze on University Street around 4:15 a.m.
No other injuries were reported.


The name of the person who was killed is being withheld pending identification.
An autopsy has been ordered by the Adams County attorney.


The cause of the fire is under investigation.
