HIGHLIGHTS: Former Huskers Burroughs, Green Compete at Final X Wrestling Competition

LINCOLN - Former Husker wrestlers Jordan Burroughs and James Green competed at the Final X wrestling competition in Lincoln this weekend. By winning their bouts, both have earned a spot on the U.S. World Team that will compete at the World Wrestling Championships in Kazakhstan in September.
Both wrestlers competed in a best of three series against their opponents. Green defeated Ryan Deakin in the 70 kilogram category. He won by tech fall 11-0 in round one in a match that lasted just 18 seconds. He won round two by a 4-3 decision.
Burroughs also won his first round. He defeated Isaiah Martinez to win 5-4. Burroughs lost round two 6-5, but bounced back in round three and won 7-1.
