Three Rescued from Elkhorn River
NORFOLK - No injuries were reported, and everyone is safe and sound after three people were rescued from the Elkhorn River.
Sergeant Roskens with Norfolk Police told NCN that calls came in around 6:30 Sunday evening reporting three people were stuck on the Elkhorn River near the Cowboy Trail under Highway 81. The people involved told police they were caught on debris while floating down the river.
Officials say all three people were rescued from the water without injury in about 30 minutes. Emergency crews were able to use lifejackets and tow rope in the rescue and did not enter the water.
Norfolk Police responded with assistance from Norfolk Fire and Rescue and the Madison County Sheriff's Office.
