City Department Name Change, Seeks Positive, Prideful Image

BEATRICE - The City of Beatrice is changing the name of the Building Inspections Department. It will now be known as the City of Beatrice Community Development Department.
Chief Building Inspector…now Community Development Officer, Rob Mierau says it has a more positive ring to it. He says it is also touching off a community pride initiative.

Mierau says promoting residential development on some city-owned property is also a goal, including developers acquiring city-owned land and maintaining it.
