Sex Offender Imprisoned For Registry Violation
BEATRICE - A district judge has turned down a delay in sentencing and request for probation, for a man convicted of a Sex Offender Registry violation.
35-year-old Tee Cheramie was ordered to serve a three-year state prison sentence, and 18 months post-release supervision.
A pre-sentence investigation report had not been completed because the defendant had not met with state probation.
Gage County District Judge Rick Schreiner overruled a defense motion for a new sentencing date. In denying probation, Schreiner cited Cheramie's 20-year criminal history, including similar offenses.
