Beatrice Police Arrest Man Suspected in Sexual Assault of 12-Year-Old Girl

BEATRICE - Beatrice Police investigating a report made to a Beatrice Middle School Counselor have arrested a 20-year-old man on suspicion of four counts of 1st-degree sexual assault.
A police investigator says 20-year-old Schad Myers, of Beatrice was arrested early Tuesday afternoon. Earlier that day, police had received information that a student at Beatrice Middle School had reported her 12-year-old friend was having a sexual relationship with a 20-year-old man.
The information was shared with police and a school resource officer, who then made contact with the alleged victim. The suspect, Myers, acknowledged to police he had sex with the 12-year-old victim at least four times, between November of 2018 and February of this year.
The assaults allegedly took place at a home in the one-thousand block of North 6th., where Myers resides.
