NORFOLK - A Norfolk company is pitching in with a donation to the flood relief efforts.
The Nebraska Division of Associated Wholesale Grocers announced a five-thousand dollar donation to the Orphan Grain Train. The money will help with the Grain Train's efforts in helping towns recover from last week's flooding.
“All of our associates participated in the fundraiser,” said Nebraska Division Manager Bob Durand. “We have the Associated Wholesale Grocers' 'AWG Cares' program. Giving back to the community is part of what we do.”
The money will be well-used right away.
Officials with the Orphan Grain Train say they are purchasing materials and supplies for those that didn't have flood insurance. They've also been sending blankets and mattresses to evacuation centers and transported drinking water to the towns of Spencer and Lynch.
