Nebraska Farm Bureau Assisting Producers In Many Different Ways

COLUMBUS - The Nebraska Farm Bureau is assisting producers in ways both big and small as the state recovers from the flooding disaster.
The Bureau, in partnership with Farm Bureau Financial Services, the Nebraska Pork Producers, and the Nebraska Cattlemen, made a stop at the Knights of Columbus in Columbus on Monday night to provide a burger and pork feed to those affected by the floods, or volunteers helping with recovery. The Bureau made a similar stop this past Saturday in Verdigre, and will head to Lynch on Tuesday for another burger feed.
Not only is the Bureau helping with providing food to affected communities, but monetary assistance is being offered to producers in need as well. 1st Vice President Mark McHargue says that the Bureau has raised about $700,000 for their Disaster Relief Fund, and that there have been numerous charitable donations to help producers recovering from the flooding.
McHargue says that those who may be in need of those funds can complete an application at the Nebraska Farm Bureau's website, and donations to the fund can be made on the same page as well.
