GENOA - After the historic flooding disaster, Twin River Public Schools is still adapting to the unique situation they find themselves in.
Due to damage caused to bridges in the Genoa area, Superintendent John Weidner says that some students and staff that were south of the Loup River were unable to travel to Twin River. Ultimately, the decision was made to send 135 students to Silver Creek, where they would be taught remotely.
Weidner says that the Twin River staff is still figuring out issues outside of the classroom, such as coordinating practices for extracurricular activities. In all, Weidner says that the faculty is trying their best in the situation that they are in, and that the students and staff have done a very good job at turning a negative situation into a positive one.
